I was hoofing through Hollywood Blvd. my first summer in LA desperate for some old East Coast charm. As I shook my head at the old cracked stone of Edith Head, one of my personal Hollywood favs I saw it across the street like a beacon.Costume Jewelry and Fashion is just what the name implies and so much more. It’s a small store packed to the brim with every kind of cheap accessory you could dream of. There are tons of vintage costume jewelry pieces and it’s all affordable. I stocked up on dollar earrings and day glo stockings. As I continued to shop gleefully I saw the person who owned the shop.A Vaguely Asian transplant from Hawaii with a perfect blonde bob. I am not sure the gender of said person rhinestone jewelry, but let me tell you s/he was fierce. Huge sunglasses and long red dragon nails. A coy smile and helpful talk of warm beautiful weather and tropical beginnings were the only music in the place…and it was beautiful.Screw those overpriced plastic trinkets at high-end Boutiques. Brave the Blvd. and find this sweet little hidden gem.

Jewelry PolishingAfter picking up my setting and having it set with the diamond I purchased we were off to get my setting polished up. I guess I assumed the setting would be all pretty when I went to pick it up but it was in it’s raw form. Jack took me to two places. A setter to place my diamond onto the ring and then to Mike’s place to polish it up. I was totally excited and watched him spin his wheels on my precious stone and setting. As the wheel spun my ring became shinier and shinier. It took him a good 25 minutes to get it to tip top shape. I was elated and my ring sparkled ?I was jumping with joy but not literally. Now if you go on your own it’s like $15 bucks but I guarantee whatever you take to him it will be awesome when you get it back. ?I looked at other things he was polishing and they looked superb. Two thumbs up here rhinestone jewelry!

Great jeweler Stainless Steel Necklaces, articulate, friendly and honest. ?I’ll let you know how my piece turns out but the jeweler, I think his name is Mike, was able to look at the piece I have and with my description of what I wanted the finished piece to look like sketched out what I think is going to be a piece.
This review is the honest truth from a former customer. It has been almost 9 years since I’ve been there and I still very upset with them. My husband had them design an engagement ring for me – a pave band with a center stone (approx value $8k…not a lot of money for most but it was for us in our late 20s/early 30s). They told him that if the ring doesn’t fit Pearl jewelry, they would re-size it. Little did we know, but they should have, you can’t re-size a pave diamond band. Long story short, after taking the ring in for resizing, several days later they called me to say they couldn’t. I asked them why they told my fianc�� they could when they sold him the ring. The jeweler didn’t have a response instead suggested a “u-shape spring” to be placed inside the ring. Given that I was young and na?ve about jewelry and didn’t know better, I said OK since the ring was too big for my finger…they didn’t leave me with another option. Several days later, I went to pick up my ring. To my shock, I didn’t realize it was an actual u-shape spring. It looked like a fake toy ring with a spring part inside it. I couldn’t believe they actually tried to give me back the ring that look like crap. I saw the ring and just cried. Thank goodness my coworker was with me and suggested I refuse the ring and demanded they fit it properly. I wanted a second opinion so we walked five stores over to Polachecks Jewelers. They were extremely helpful and even they couldn’t believe how bad the ring looked and advised me to demand they “make it right”. Secondly, the ring was supposed to be all platinum but they used platinum for the ring but white gold for the prongs. I asked them why wasn’t the ring stamped with the symbol for platinum since that is what we were promised and had paid for. They gave me some lame excuse that they “had to make the prong in white gold, it was the standard in the industry”…something lame like that. I had to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The jeweler ended up making a whole new ring. Anyway, after the BBB filing, they did make the ring in all platinum and had it stamped with the “PT” letters so I know they were cutting corners with the first ring. Furthermore freshwater Pearl Necklaces, the second ring they made, they used smaller diamonds for the pave band. It was definitely not the same size diamonds. I only had pictures from when we were on vacation and my fianc�� proposed but I didn’t have hard evidences that they used smaller stones but I know they are. I bet my life on it. This experience ruined what should have been one of the happiness occasions in a person life. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Not worth taking the chance of ruining your special day. Buyers beware!!!

It is easy to get lost in this store.She has everything from kitchen wares to vintage Parisian jewelry. When first visiting this store, I was in a euphoric state. One of my absolute favorite places to shop. It isn’t very big, but I still manage to spend hours in there admiring all the lovely jewelry, handbags, furniture Wholesale Watches, housewares, etc. This is my go-to place when I need a gift for any of the cool and interesting ladies in my life. I stumbled upon this beautiful little shop on my way to the Gelato Bar with Mary-Alex A. yesterday. ?This shop is such an awesome, eclectic blend of antiques, jewelery Pearl jewelry, home decor, hardware and so much more. ?Beautiful chandeliers for under $300, yes they’re smaller – aka, not huge – but they are beautiful, and very well displayed. ?Custom made velvet bedspreads that adorn shabby chic benches alongside glass knobs and pulls displayed in glass cases. ?The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is peaceful, and I think it will be many trips, if ever, before I discover all the treasures and secrets this shop has to offer. ?What a fantastic find! ?Stop by if you get a chance.
